Download the update package www.android.clients.google.com/updates/voles/signed-voles-ESE81-from-ESD56.fa406da6.zip. Do not unzip! If Your browser is automatically unzipped things (such as Safari on the Mac, for example), using different browsers. This COMPULSORY residence zip.
Rename the file from signed-voles-ESE81-of-ESD56. fa406da6. zip to update.zip. If you are using an OS that does not show the extension zip, just name it "update". If not this would be called "update.zip.zip" and will not work.
Take the microSD card of your phone, enter to the microSD card reader.
Drag and drop "update.zip" file into the main folder (otherwise known as the root folder) from a microSD card. Don't go looking for a folder named "main" or "root"-we refer to in the folder on Your microSD card that holds all the other folders.
Turn you from Droid microSD card, and put back in.
Hold the letter "X" on the keyboard. While still holding it, turn You back the Droid in. You should see the exclamation icon appears on your screen.
Press the volume up and down the camera at the same time exactly. If nothing happens, do it again. When you enter the bootloader screen, you know it's done. (Some folks report that you need to hold the volume up and then press the camera key after. This is somewhat complicated, but it will work eventually.)
Use the d-pad to navigate to the "applied: update.zip" option, and select the file you just dragged to Your microSD card.
